“Love life, engage in it, give it all you've got. Love it with a passion. Because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it.”-Maya Angelou
Each year, more and more women join the career bandwagon. We are no longer confined to doing the laundry and whipping up meals at home. Instead, young women of today are driven, smart and fearlessly treading the waters of the cutthroat "real" life outside the university. My sister Calai is one of them. Having graduated cum laude with a degree in AB Communications (Batch 2006), she takes the world by strides. She is always on-call as a segment producer for the GMA 7/QTV 11 show "Draw The Line." The show caters to abused women, rape and incest victims, even molested children. She has to lug around a big tote bag of papers, a laptop, pens, mini DV tapes, USB Flash disks and all the other stuff for rescue operations and editing. Yup. She is a part of the rescue operations team. Often being sent to far-flung destinations, her schedule is as jam-packed as it could be. So an idea popped across my mind: there is no other gift that's more cut out for her than the gift of a Belle de Jour Power Planner.
The time slots and the daily tasks space will prove useful for her deadlines, meetings and errands while the most important tasks (MITs) and action list space will be for notes on her editing schedules and meet-ups with social welfare officers. Of course her personal errands like paying her credit card bills or apartment bills may also be jotted down on monthly priorities and the expenses tracker will be very useful to track her personal expenses and those that will be re-imbursed by the company. Social functions like family and friends' parties, office gatherings and after-office drinks will not be missed. Not with the social calendar section.
Some super delightful bonuses on top of the planner's organizing her frenetic schedule are the discount coupons that scream "Me Time!", the encouraging words of wisdom and inspirational power quotes to neutralize her tough days, and the no-nonsense articles about getting all dolled-up, climbing the corporate ladder, being a smart jet-setter, living the healthy way and tons more, Belle de Jour style.
Indeed, the BDJ planner is the next best thing for women since sliced bread! A power planner for a smart, gorgeous and confident woman who braves the fieldwork of rescue operations and embraces her career with the passion for helping abused women and children in need. Calai truly is worthy to be blessed with The Gift of Belle. ;-)
